Tofu Fries

Ingredients
  

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu
  • ½ cup + 2 tbsp plant-based milk
  • ½ cup flour all-purpose
  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1-½ tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Press the tofu
  • Preheat oven to 475°F. Grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
  • In one bowl, combine the plant-based milk and the flour and mix well (It should form a paste). In another bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, seasonings, and olive oil.
  • Cut the tofu into small strips about ⅓" thick. The strips should be as long as the shorter side of the block of tofu.
  • One by one, dip the tofu strips into the plant-milk paste and then coat with the bread crumb mixture.*
  • Place all of the tofu fries on the greased baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Serve with your favorite vegan dipping sauces!

Notes

* After dipping the tofu in the plant-milk paste, let some of the liquid drip off. When coating with the breadcrumbs, press the crumbs into the paste to coat it as much as possible.
