You probably already know that many bagel brands are vegan, but what can you top them with? You could go with peanut butter or avocado, but there are also many vegan cream cheese brands to choose from!
Like plant-based milk products, plant-based cream cheese brands are made with a variety of bases and can taste different. Most of these bases are the same as plant milk — almond, soy, coconut, cashew, etc. So, you might have to try a few brands to see what you prefer!
It’s important to note, however, that store-bought vegan cream cheese shouldn’t be considered a health food. Many of them contain a lot of oil and other preservatives with few benefits. Daiya was one of the first plant-based dairy alternative brands available, but it seems like other brands have begun taking over. Look for Daiya Cream Cheeze using Daiya’s product finder.
