Even those who are not vegan might want to substitute vegan hot dogs in their diet. Processed meat, including hot dogs, is known to be carcinogenic. And although the plant-based hot dogs on this list are in some ways processed, they do not require the same processing agents as real meat and are not known to be carcinogenic.
Note: Nathan’s Famous vegan hot dogs are available but not sold at retailers at this time. You either have to live in the New York or New Jersey area or pay a lot of money to have them shipped to you, so they are not included on this list. However, the brand hopes to soon have these meatless hot dogs sold in stores.
