Animal Products Used to Make Slippers

Slippers, like other types of footwear, are often made from animal products. If you are looking for a cruelty-free alternative to keep your feet warm, jump down to the list of vegan slippers!

When it comes to slippers, the most common animal product used is animal fur to give the slippers a soft, fluffy look and feel. Other than animal fur being used to make slippers, another common animal product used is leather (animal skin), which includes suede (often found on moccasin slippers).

There are numerous other animal products used to produce footwear, including sneaky ones like glues and dyes, but you can be sure that the vegan house slippers on this list are completely free of animal products!

This list includes many different types of vegan slippers, including those for both men and women, indoor-outdoor slippers, moccasin slippers, faux fur slippers (for the cold winter months), and year-round slippers so you don’t have to walk around barefoot! Just read the descriptions for each product to see which is best for you!

Note: I never use another website’s claims as fact. I always go straight to the source and contact manufacturers if I can’t find the information on their websites. I have found many false claims on the internet about vegan products. Here are some companies I have contacted to see if any of their products were vegan-friendly:

  • Acorn slippers are not vegan. I contacted this company in late 2020, and they informed me that none of their products are vegan.
  • Isotoner slippers are not vegan. I contacted this company in late 2020, and they informed me that none of their products are currently vegan, but they are looking to make vegan slippers in the future.

TOMS Slippers

TOMS Vegan Slippers for men and women

Buy Online:   Women’s  | Men’s

Quick Look:

  • HUGE selection of vegan slippers for men and women!
  • $50 – $80

TOMS has one of the largest selections of vegan slippers for men and women! While there is no specific link I can provide to all of their vegan slippers, TOMS makes it super easy to find out which of their shoes are vegan-friendly!

Start by going to men’s slippers or women’s slippers and skim through their options. Once you find a pair you like, click on it and read the description. All of the vegan shoes will have “100% vegan” written there! Quick Tip: the ones that say “faux fur” in the name are usually vegan-friendly!

Bearpaw Loki Vegan Slippers

Bearpaw Vegan Loki Slippers

Quick Look:

  • $40 – $50
  • 2 Colors — black and beet
  • indoor/outdoor slipper

These vegan indoor outdoor slippers by Bearpaw are made with vegan microsuede and have a faux fur collar. The outsole is made from rubber, so you can wear them indoors and outdoors without being damaged. Even though this design is durable for outdoor wear, it also features a plush, faux fur footbed that will keep your feet warm and comfortable!

PAWJ Slippers

PAWJ Vegan Slippers for Men and Women

  • 100% vegan footwear brand!
  • slippers men and women

PAWJ slippers for women come in two different colors: tan and black! They both have EVA outsoles, synthetic suede upper fabric, and a faux fur lining. The EVA outsole is more flexible than rubber, but still waterproof so that you can go outside with them.

PAWJ slippers for men are a moccasin-style slipper and only come in one color: chestnut. Like the women’s slippers, they are made with synthetic suede, a waterproof yet flexible EVA sole, and a faux fur lining.

Freewaters Slippers

Freewaters Vegan Slippers

Shop Online: Men’s Slippers | Women’s Slippers

Quick Look:

  • $45 – $100
  • high-quality home slippers and indoor-outdoor slippers
  • multiple styles and colors for men and women

Nearly all Freewaters slippers are vegan (all of them were vegan the last time I checked). Just make sure that “vegan” is written in the description before you buy. They have multiple styles for men and women. Read the descriptions for each pair to choose the best pair for you. They all offer different levels of insulation, and some are specifically made for indoor-outdoor wear!

The best indoor-outdoor slipper by Freewaters is for both men and women, and it is called the Poler Mod. The rubber sole makes this slipper durable in any terrain, and it also has a zipper compartment to put a foot warmer inside! If you are looking for a vegan slipper with arch support, many of the other Freewaters slippers have excellent arch support!

Skechers Slip-On Indoor Outdoor Shoes

Skechers Vegan slippers for women indoor-outdoor

Buy Online:   Skechers.com

Quick Look:

  • $40 – $50
  • women’s vegan slippers

Skechers is one of the only big footwear brands to label vegan shoes! When you are shopping on their website, vegan shoes will often say “vegan” under the product highlights. Also, they are very transparent about the materials used to make their shoes, so if you want to be sure, read the “features” section to see what materials were used! Plus, many of these slippers have memory foam for extra comfort!

They have many vegan slip-on indoor-outdoor shoes for women, but they don’t have many options for men (if any). There just aren’t as many slip-on shoes in general for men, so you’d be lucky to find a pair that is vegan.
